THE CAUSE
Historically, the 8th grade class of Cayucos School travels to Yosemite National Park as its final educational, class trip together. Staying for four days, they explore and learn hands-on science at one of the world's most stunning geologic wonders. Along with studying human impacts on nature, the children also build confidence, and form new connections with each other and the natural world. This annual trip is hosted by Nature Bridge.
As you know, funding for schools are at an all time low. Sending the students on this educational trip takes a tremendous amount of resources. Consequently, our children start fundraising for this trip two years ahead of time, starting in their 6th grade year. This FUNdraiser, and 100% of its proceeds, goes directly to this cause.
This FUNdraiser is parent-led and worked. Students sell trees and wreaths. Parents unload, sort, and stack the trees from the delivery truck, as well as distribute and deliver the trees (optional) and wreaths.
With every tree or wreath that is purchased through the annual Christmas Tree + Wreath FUNdraiser, the students are brought one step closer to reaching their goal of going to Yosemite for a once-in-a lifetime experience with both nature and their graduating class.
